OUR WAY TO ZEGAMA

600 km. 4 teams. 28 runners.
Zegama is one of the most iconic trail running races in the world. We couldn't get a bib. Instead of trying to get a race bib, we decided to run to Zegama our own way...
From Temple Running Girona, four teams of seven runners set off towards the Basque mountains in a continuous relay. More than 600 kilometres separated us from Zegama, and there was only one rule: someone always had to be running.

Each team was free to choose its own route, but three mandatory trail segments connected every journey.
The first trail section began in Castanyet and climbed towards El Subirà, just 45 kilometres into the route. It was an early reminder of why we were doing this. Leaving the asphalt behind, stepping onto dirt, and finding rhythm together before the long journey ahead.
As daylight disappeared, the challenge became something else entirely.
The first night was long. Rain, cold, navigation mistakes and endless kilometres in the dark tested every team. Legs grew heavier, conversations became quieter, and sleep slowly disappeared. But despite everything, the relay never stopped. Every handover meant someone else kept moving forward.

By the time we reached the halfway point, the landscape changed completely.
Around kilometre 300, the second mandatory trail segment cut through an isolated desert in the middle of Spain. It wasn't placed there by chance. Before reaching the lush green mountains of the Basque Country, we wanted every runner to experience the contrast. Dry heat instead of humidity. Open horizons instead of forests. Different terrain, different emotions, different ways of moving.
All Conditions means all conditions.
Somewhere along those kilometres, the destination stopped being the most important part of the project.
It became about the people beside you. About the runner waiting for the next relay. About eating together at three in the morning, getting lost together, laughing through exhaustion, and discovering that the best moments usually happen no matter the conditions.

After 607 kilometres and 53 hours, Team B became the first to arrive in Zegama.
Rather than crossing the final kilometres alone, they waited for each other. Wearing flowers on their T-shirts and caps, a small detail that somehow captured the spirit of the whole journey, they ran into the village together.
Zegama welcomed them exactly as everyone had imagined: mud, rain, and a town already vibrating with anticipation for the race the following morning.
For us, however, the finish line had changed long before we arrived.
It was never only about Zegama.
It was about proving that the journey can become the destination, that the strongest memories are built together, and that sometimes the most meaningful way to reach a finsh line is to create your own way there.
